Inspiring Futures

We conducted a series of hybrid workshops, combining online sessions with in-person activities, for young people aged 10 and above, many of with specific learning differences. These workshops introduced participants to the creative industries, expanding their horizons and career possibilities. Our sessions were held in various locations across the UK, including Liverpool, Blackburn, Newham (East London), and Hull.

With funding from Inspiring Futures—a collaboration between BBC Children in Need and the Youth Futures Foundation—we created dynamic, hands-on workshops where young people tackled live design briefs. They worked directly with professional designers, engaged in real-world projects, and gained insights into the workings of a design agency.

The briefs challenged the young people to explore areas such as typography, architecture, exhibition design, product design, and anime. As they worked through these design briefs, the young participants discovered how design influences everything around them — from the shows they watch and the buildings they live in, to the shoes they wear. This experience unveiled a wide range of potential careers in the creative field, inspiring them to imagine their future in these industries.
